Campbeltown is a busy market town
formed around a sea water loch which is a natural and safe
harbour with beautifull beaches on other side. The town has a
good variety of restaurants and public houses, local shops and
two major supermarkets. The Picture House is the oldest working
cinema in Scotland and is open 6 nights per week. Springbank
Distillery has daily tours and whisky tasting.
For the golfer there is an
abundance of choice only a few miles away. The award winning
championship course at Machrihanish is a true delight. The
neighbouring course at Machrihanish Dunes provides a stiff test
and has the benefit of a practice area to perfect ones game.
Southend has a delightful 18 holes while Carradale and Gigha
have 9.
For the walker there are many
beautiful secluded beaches or forestry trails to ramble and of
course the newly established Kintyre way is always an option for
the more enrgetic.
